SADIE'S RULES K9 TRAINING BOARDING POLICY

MAKING A RESERVATION

  • Both drop off and pick up appointments are required to make a boarding reservation.

  • Appointment hours are between 9:30am and 5pm, Monday through Sunday. There are no appointments on holidays.

  • If you need to change your appointment times, you can follow the link in your confirmation email to reschedule.

  • We have a 15-minute grace period; if you're later than 15 minutes, you'll be charged a late fee every 15 minutes thereafter.

  • No early pickups unless you've emailed with proper notice (48 hours) to change your appointment.

  • If you have an emergency or other circumstances beyond your control (plane delayed, accident on the highway, etc.), please reach out to us via text or email. We will absolutely be flexible in those situations.

RATES

  • Standard boarding rate: $65/night

  • Holiday boarding rate: $100/night for the nights of Memorial Day, July 4th, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve & Day, and New Years Eve.

  • Late fee: $30 for every 15 minutes late for drop off and pick up appointments.

WHAT TO BRING (and what not to bring)

  • Please bring your dog's e-collar and remote. Do NOT bring the charger or the prong.

  • Bring enough food for the length of your dog's stay (in a labeled bag or container). PLEASE remember that the dogs eat more here, so pack extra!! We’ve had a problem with folks not packing enough and we cannot let a dog go hungry. Please err on the side of packing more food than less.

  • Pack any medications your dog is currently taking in a plastic baggie, labeled with their name and instructions.

  • Do not bring anything else! Please leave all chargers, leashes, bowls, toys, beds, blankets, brushes, combs, etc. at home. We have everything your dog needs for their stay.

ELIGIBILITY

We only offer boarding to our graduates because their training ensures that they're all on the same page. This keeps things flowing smoothly and makes it safe and efficient. When a dog returns for boarding and their training has clearly lapsed, this is a major hindrance to the boarding flow.

  • MAINTAIN TRAINING - We do not expect your dog to be perfect, but we do expect that you're keeping up with your dog's training, especially regarding behavioral concerns. There will be a training fee assessed if your dog's training has clearly lapsed and we have to spend extra time working with them.

  • MAINTAIN CRATE USE - Please do not stop crating your dog! If you do, your dog will struggle here and their stay will not be very enjoyable for them. This may result in your dog being ineligible for future boarding stays, so please, please make sure you’re using the crate on a daily basis, even while you’re home!

  • NO DOG PARKS, BOARDING OR DAYCARE FACILITIES - For the health and safety of every dog in our care, we cannot accept dogs for boarding if they have been at a dog daycare, dog park, or dog boarding facility within the past 30 days. This is one way that we prevent germs from being introduced to our facility and the dogs in our care. Please adhere to this policy.

Remember: You have lifetime email support from us!! If there's something your dog is struggling with or you need to get your dog back on track, please email us. We are here to help!

VACCINATIONS

All dogs MUST BE CURRENT on rabies, distemper and Bordetella vaccines in order to come to boarding. Please do NOT board your dog without proper immunization—this puts everyone at risk.

ANNUAL FECAL EXAM

All dogs must provide documentation that they’ve had a fecal exam with negative results within 12 months from the date of their boarding reservation. Documentation from the vet detailing the negative results must be shared with us via email. Screenshots of text messages are not accepted, so if your vet sends you a text to let you know results were negative, please ask them to email you documentation that you can forward to us. The test must check for giardia, coccidia, roundworm, whipworm and hookworm, at a minimum.

HEALTH

Boarding is only available to dogs who are healthy. If your dog is experiencing diarrhea or illness, please do NOT send them for boarding. If we discover that your dog is sick, you will be expected to pick your dog up ASAP. If you are out of town or otherwise unavailable, you will need to call on someone else to come get your dog.

If your dog is experiencing any health conditions, whether or not that makes them ineligible for boarding, PLEASE TELL US. This information only helps us care for your dog properly.

Once again, please do NOT take your dog to a dog park, dog daycare or dog boarding facility within 30 days of their arrival here. This policy helps prevent the introduction of unnecessary germs!

IN-TACT DOGS

It is always a risk to board intact dogs at any boarding facility. We do our very best to prevent intact dogs from interacting and we double our efforts when a dog is actively in heat. We ask that you kindly inform us if your dog is in heat or could potentially go into heat, so that we are aware and can be proactive. We do not permit humping for any dog at any time, but even with all of our prevention strategies and rules, accidents could still happen. If your dog mates with another while here at Sadie’s Rules, we are not responsible for the outcome.

REFRESHERS

If you want your dog to have dedicated training time with us while they board, we can book them for a refresher instead of boarding. If you feel this would be helpful for your dog, please email us to discuss this possibility.
